Posted by Orin Voorheis was serving a mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1997 when he was robbed and shot in the head. After being shot, the robbers fled and his companion gave him a blessing. Miraculously, Orin survived, but has significant disabilities. He understands everything people say around him and has a great sense of humor and a tremendous faith in God; however, he has severe physical disabilities and is unable to speak. He lives in Pleasant Grove and local stakes provide support during therapy sessions. During each session, a professional aide is present.
